Filter Toolbar

The filter toolbar sits below the search bar and provides visual controls for narrowing results without typing filter syntax.

Extension Filter

Click the extension dropdown to filter by file type. AnySearch includes 40+ built-in presets organized by category:

• Code: .swift, .py, .js, .ts, .tsx, .go, .rs, .java, .c, .cpp, .h, .css, .html, .json, .yaml, .xml, .sql, .sh
• Images: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .svg, .webp, .ico, .bmp, .tiff
• Video: .mp4, .mov, .avi, .mkv, .wmv, .flv, .webm
• Audio: .mp3, .wav, .aac, .flac, .ogg, .m4a
• Documents: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .txt, .md, .rtf
• Archives: .zip, .tar, .gz, .rar, .7z, .dmg

Size Filter

Filter files by size using presets or custom ranges:

• Less than 1 KB
• 1 KB – 1 MB
• 1 MB – 100 MB
• 100 MB – 1 GB
• Greater than 1 GB
• Custom range (e.g., 1mb..100mb)

Date Filter

Filter by when files were last modified:

• Today
• This week
• This month
• Custom date range

Directory Scope

Limit search to specific directories:

• Global: Search all indexed locations
• Desktop: Only files on your Desktop
• Documents: Only files in Documents
• Downloads: Only files in Downloads
• Custom: Choose any indexed directory

Active Filters

Active filters appear as tags below the search bar. Click the × on any tag to remove that filter.
